Torture Ship

It all makes so much sense now / How could I have been so wrong?
If you want to survive you have to die a thousand times first
Your past becomes history / The future is now!
Growing pains, mature toward suffering
There is no good or bad anymore, only sensations / Feel the blood rushing through your brain
Every nerve screams in protest of existing / You can no longer fear pain
Stop the attachments to that which will take you nowhere
You have to kill if you want to stay alive
And that's what this is about / Survival / Don't lose sight of that fact
The sear becomes new again / Rid yourself of the filth of comfort
Within in the strife you will find the creature you were truly meant to become
You are not that which surrounds you
You are not who you've been shaped to be
You are the fire burning in your chest
Either burn out or die forgotten
And you have to be remembered
Even if it tears you apart
Don't be like the others
Don't die before the grave
THE FUTURE IS NOW!
THE FUTURE IS NOW!

Paper Tongues

An ocean of passion / still waters, murky with pain
Not yet traversed by man or machine and not of this earth
The tides bite back, unwilling to be understood
Martian to most but deadly to those who witness its crimson shores
Concealed beneath the surface unmeasurable horror, suffering embodied
The beast which guards its heart made of secrets awaits its next victim
It won’t even kill you
That’s too easy, it wants you to last
It sinks teeth into your flesh
And tears at your heart ‘til you have nothing left
At the brink of expiration
Relief comes reluctantly back
When the creature retires to plan its next attack
But not for long
You’re afraid of your own darkness too, but not like me, you don’t fear like I do
And I don’t want to turn away, all I’ve ever wanted is to help you
I want to fight the monster in you but I’m afraid I might hurt you too and that’s too much to bear
I do what I do and I say what I say because I care
And still you bare your teeth / Hate still lies beneath / The cycle continues
I let you hurt me again / I let you hurt me again and again and again
Why did I let it win? Why did I let it win?
Because deep down within I know what you’re capable of
The pain you inflict is how you were taught to love
And how could I turn down love?
I’ve already learned to forgive
Maybe one day I’ll learn to forget
Either way I’ll be here by your side
At your shores crimson red
